Use & care

HC101
Installation guide.

Before installation

Turn off the water. To remove an existing fixed head or bracket holder, protect the ball joint with a soft cloth and loosen it counterclockwise using a wrench or pliers where required. Tools are not included. Check and remove old sealing tape and worn washers before fitting the new connection.

Connections and installation

The HC101 fits standard 1/2-inch NPT connections. Fit it between the shower arm and a fixed head, or before a compatible handheld hose. Place a rubber washer in the recessed filter inlet, fit the filter, then reconnect the shower head or hose. Check available space before installation.

For a first installation that seals correctly, thread tape is not required. If careful retightening does not stop a leak, follow the sealing guidance below.

Troubleshooting: leaks

Check that the washer is correctly seated and undamaged. Replace a worn washer with the supplied spare. If the joint still leaks, reseat it and apply suitable sealing tape to the male thread according to the connection instructions. The English guide shows 4–5 wraps or more where needed; avoid overtightening.

How to replace your cartridge.

  1. Turn off the water and unscrew the filter housing.
  2. Remove the used HC10C cartridge.
  3. Insert a new HC10C cartridge with either end first.
  4. Refit the housing and check the seal.

Flush before use

After reassembly, run warm water at 40–50°C (104–122°F) through the filter for one minute to activate and flush the new cartridge. Adjust the water to a comfortable temperature before use.

Replace the cartridge every 3–4 months or after 12,000 US gallons (approx. 45,400 L), whichever comes first. Water quality and use may require earlier replacement.
